How Frame works

Frame runs entirely client-side — the QR encoding, the styling, the logo embedding, and the high-resolution export all happen inside your browser using open web standards. There's no backend processing your content, which is also why there's nothing to sign up for.

We built the design gallery — separate styles for business, events, gifts, and proposals — because a QR code on a wedding invitation and a QR code on a corporate badge shouldn't look like they came from the same cookie cutter.

Frame is a free QR code generator. This policy explains, in plain language, what happens to your information when you use it.

The short version: the content you type into Frame to build a QR code — URLs, text, contact details, WiFi passwords — never leaves your browser. There is no server storing what you generate.

1. What Frame does not collect

Frame's QR code generator runs entirely client-side. When you type a destination URL, WiFi password, contact details, or any other content into the generator, that data is processed locally in your browser to build the QR code image. It is not transmitted to, or stored on, any server operated by Frame.

We do not require an account, an email address, or a login to use the generator, and we do not attach your generated codes to any identity.

2. Information collected automatically

Like most websites, the underlying web server and any analytics or advertising services we use may automatically collect standard technical information when you visit, including:

Browser type and version
Device type and operating system
General location inferred from IP address (city/country level)
Pages visited and time spent on the site
Referring website, if any

This information is used in aggregate to understand how the site is used and to keep it running reliably. It is not used to identify you personally.

3. Cookies and advertising

Frame may display advertisements served by third-party providers, including Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings.

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits. This allows Frame and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.

4. Location map feature

If you use the Location Pin QR type, the interactive map is provided by OpenStreetMap contributors, and place search is provided by the Nominatim geocoding service. Your search queries and map interactions on that feature are sent directly to those third-party services in order to return map tiles and search results; please refer to OpenStreetMap Foundation's privacy policy for details on how they handle that traffic.

5. Uploaded images and logos

Photos or logos you upload for the Smart Logo Fit or Image QR features are processed entirely within your browser to build the QR code or embed a compressed thumbnail. These files are never uploaded to a server.

6. Children's privacy

Frame is a general-audience tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time as the tool evolves. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision.

These terms govern your use of Frame (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

1. What Frame is

Frame is a free, browser-based tool for generating QR codes for URLs, text, contact cards, WiFi credentials, and similar content, with optional decorative styling. The Service is provided "as is," runs client-side in your browser, and does not require an account.

2. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Frame to generate QR codes that:

Link to malware, phishing pages, or other content designed to harm or deceive users
Facilitate illegal activity in your jurisdiction
Infringe on someone else's intellectual property or privacy rights
Contain content that is fraudulent, defamatory, or intended to harass

You are solely responsible for the content you encode and for how you use, print, or distribute the codes you generate.

3. No warranty

Frame is provided free of charge, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do our best to make sure generated codes scan reliably, including the built-in scan-safety checks, but we cannot guarantee that every code will scan correctly in every scanner, lighting condition, or print quality. Always test a code before mass-printing or publishing it.

4. Third-party services

Certain features rely on third-party services — for example, the interactive map (OpenStreetMap and Nominatim) and the QR encoding library. Your use of those features is also subject to the respective third party's own terms.

5. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Frame and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including any loss resulting from a QR code that fails to scan or that was generated incorrectly.

6. Changes to the Service or these terms

We may update, modify, or discontinue features of Frame at any time, and may revise these terms as the Service evolves. Continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

7. Advertising

Frame may display third-party advertising, including through Google AdSense, to support the cost of running the Service free of charge. See our Privacy Policy for details on how advertising cookies are used.
